Chania has an impressive variety of goods to offer shoppers, from top designer labels and exquisite jewelry to fine antiques and superb leather goods. Shops are open Monday, Wednesday and Saturday 9am-3pm, Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 8pm. Tourist stores stay open from 9am to 10pm 7 days a week. In high season (May to October) I have never encountered a closed store. Crete is famous for its original jewelry designs in gold and silver - and it is very competitively priced.

You will not want to miss the indoor market in town called Agora. It is designed in the shape of a crucifix and it offers a plethora of stalls selling everything! You really get the flavor of Chania and its people here!
